Spending a lot of money on a brand new vehicle is thrilling, until the car starts to live at the dealer. You want a car that is built to last, has a stable engine and tech, as well as a history of reliability. This is especially true for the entry level luxury SUV market, which has been booming. The models are a great way to get upscale looks and features with everyday comfort. They’re also (mostly!) under $50,000. It’s smart to check real-world reliability statistics, since none of these things are cheap. We’ve selected seven new luxury SUVs which are upscale and reliable. The models are ranked based on iSeeCars’ reliability score. Related

Ten budget SUVs with low repair costs

These SUVs are reliable and affordable.

7 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLA

Reliability Score: 7.8/10 Credit: Mercedes-Benz This puts the GLA just short of joining the 80+ club. Usually reserved for heavy-duty trucks and road warriors such as the Toyota Camry. Even so, the 78 rating is not to be taken lightly, particularly for an entry level luxury SUV. This is one of the cheaper options, but you still get that Mercedes badge and respectable reliability over time.

This solid reliability rating only pays off when you maintain your vehicle, including regular oil changes, scheduled maintenance and routine servicing. If you do that, your GLA will run smoothly and without problems for many years.

If you spend a bit more on high-quality parts for the 2.0-liter mild-hybrid 4-cylinder engine, it will reward you with many quiet and drama-free kilometers.

6 2026 Audi Q5

Reliability Score: 7.9/10 Credit: NetCarShow.com 19459022 In practical terms, the GLA and Audi Q5 are neck-and-neck in long term reliability. Random engine light occurrences and software issues are the most frequent Q5 hiccups. Keep up to date with updates, and check in with your dealer during warranty. This will prevent these problems from becoming bigger. Credit: NetCarShow.com.

If handled correctly, the Q5 will still perform well in high-mileage drives. The Q5 is not as durable as other Japanese SUVs (we will get to them soon), but it still feels like a luxury vehicle in its own class.

With technology borrowed from the larger siblings, including a 14.5″ infotainment display with optional passenger displays and top safety features many competitors only offer in additions.

Acura MDX 5 2026

Acura MDX: Reliability Score: 8.0/10 Credit: Acura The MDX’s place in the SUV ladder is what makes it stand out. It’s a serious SUV that offers size, practicality, and presence.

Acura

The MDX is a practical vehicle that offers seven seats, a large 39.1 cubic foot cargo area behind the second-row and costs around $50,000.

Acura’s 2026 MDX model comes with two free years of scheduled maintenance. This gives it an advantage in terms of reliability. The 3.5-liter V-6 engine isn’t quite as fuel efficient as the smaller Q5 engine but still provides a solid and reliable performance.

Full-Spec 2026 Mazda CX-5

Reliability Score: 8.1/10 Credit: Mazda It is priced similarly to other luxury base models, or even less. Yet it still delivers on several important fundamentals. The CX-5 is a surprising option, even though it doesn’t have the luxury of a Lexus, or the prestige that an Audi has. It offers the same practicality, style and durability as many other rivals.

Mazda

The top-spec CX-5 is priced at just $39,000, and comes with a number of features to match or even surpass those found in many rivals. It feels surprisingly luxurious with heated front and rear seat, ventilated seats in the front, a sunroof and memory settings for mirrors and seats. This trim comes with a 15.6-inch touchscreen, proving that it is on par with Audis and Volvos of the base specification. Materials and performance may not be as impressive, but the engine’s tough naturally aspirated design has been proven to deliver high mileage without any drama.

Acura 32026 RDX (19459027)

Acura RDX scores an impressive 8.3/10 for reliability. The 2026 RDX is a practical, affordable and high-quality option because it ditches its third row while still offering a large cargo space. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine replaces the V-6, and it delivers impressive reliability that is on par with MDX’s bigger engine. Acura Credit

The few weaknesses of the RDX are software issues rather than mechanical problems. They only affect a limited number vehicles. It’s an all-around, spacious, well-specified SUV, which is also quick and convenient to drive.

2 2026 Volvo XC60

Credit: NetCarShow.com.

Reliability Score: 8.3/10. The Volvo XC60 is up against its European competitors on this list like the Audi Q5 or Mercedes GLA. The XC60 is the only one to reach $49,700. All three cars have inline four engines with smaller displacements, similar cargo spaces, and are priced between $40,000 and $50,000. Volvo’s reliability is what sets it apart.

While the Volvo XC60 is equipped with similar features to other SUVs, it has a power panoramic roof as standard and advanced safety technology. The XC60 comes with lane-keep assistance and adaptive cruise control as standard. This will keep you safe on the roads. It’s a tough SUV, the 2026 XC60, which is why it has been rated as the best European entry level SUV.

1 2026 Lexus RX 350

Lexus is at the top of the list, and it’s not surprising. Lexus is the brand that best represents this list: luxury and reliability. The RX 350 truly delivers on both. The RX 350 may not be as fast or practical, but it is a great SUV when you consider the priorities on this list. Lexus is the clear winner, outpacing Volvo and Acura.

Lexus

Lexus is Toyota’s luxury division, so the RX 350 not only comes with a refined interior, but also carries Toyota’s legendary engine and quality controls. The 2026 RX, which follows Toyota’s durability philosophy, can go beyond 200,000 miles with proper maintenance, making it an excellent long-term choice.
