Robert S. Brown III is an expert on advanced control and process theory, as well as physical properties.

Dr. Brown has contributed his knowledge and expertise to Shell Projects and Technology in the US since 2012.

FRIENDSWOOD (TEXAS), March 12, 2025, /24-7PressRelease/ – Robert S. Brown III has been chosen for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. Dr. Brown has worked as a senior consultant for Shell Projects and Technology in the US since 2012. He has a four-decade career and is a subject matter expert on advanced control theory, physical properties and process control. Shell, a group of global energy and petrochemical firms based in London that operates in more than 70 countries, is an international company.

In addition to his work at Shell, Dr. Brown is the principal of Alert Conformance Technology since 2009. He continues to serve in this role alongside his Shell position. He is also responsible for collaborating with private equity and venture capital firms on biofuels. Brown also worked with VLSI Technology on semiconductors and optimized MOC production. He later consulted for ACT.

After beginning his career in the refining of petrochemicals, Dr. Brown worked as a project lead engineer at Setpoint Inc. from 1988 until 1992. From 1992 to 1998, he worked at Koch Industries as a senior chemical engineering and excellence engineer. As Dr. Brown continued to advance, he joined LyondellBasell Industries Holdings B.V. in the position of principal engineer. He held this post until 2009. He managed 12 million dollars in projects, and conducted operational reviews for the purpose of improving overall performance.

The academic background of Dr. Brown is solid. In 1982, he received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Petroleum Engineering from the University of Kansas. He then received his master’s and doctorate in chemical engineering, from Texas A&M University, in 1984 and respectively.

In addition to his professional activities, Dr. Brown has been active in many professional and civic groups. Dr. Brown’s dedication to the advancement of chemical engineering can be seen in his involvement with the National Petroleum Refiners Association, and on the board for Dynamics Major Control. In addition, Dr. Brown is a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Boy Scouts of America. He has also volunteered for youth sports, high school computer contests with NASA, as well as with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Dr. Brown mentored a team of high school SPHERES students who presented at MIT to be given the chance by NASA to use their software on the manned space shuttle. NASA awarded the team mission patches. He has mentored many graduate engineers. He loves to inspire teams and individuals.

Brown has made significant contributions in the biochemistry field, with patents and patents that are tied to NDAs. Brown was involved with Deepwater Horizon and published papers for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Automatic Control Council and other organizations.

Dr. Brown was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by Sigma Xi in 2024. He also became a Sigma Xi Research Fellow. Tau Beta Pi, the Microbiology Society and other organizations have also given him accolades. His success is attributed to the diverse experiences of his family and his life, with an emphasis on teamwork over individual achievements. In the future, Dr. Brown wants to spend more time improving productivity and production processes. This reflects his passion for this field.
