TOMS RIVER N.J. – Nov. 26, 2024 – PRLog HOPE sheds light, inc., a nonprofit family organization that provides education, resources and support to families and individuals affected by addiction, held its 5th annual Evening of HOPE on November 15, 2018. This event was held at Bay Head Yacht Club on November 15, 111 Metcalfe Street in Bay Head. It was an emotional celebration of community and resilience.
Two individuals were recognized for their outstanding contributions to HSL’s mission. Chad Warnken received the Transformational Community Partner Award Joanne McElwee received the Award for her outstanding work connecting community partners with HOPE. Outstanding Volunteer Award For her service and dedication over the last ten years.
The elegant setting included tapas style dining, specialty gourmet stations, cocktail and mocktail bars, as well as lively dancing. The evening was topped off with a silent auction, which offered attendees the chance to bid on unique experiences and items to support HSL programs.
All County Exteriors QUANTUM Behavioral Health Services and The McElwee Family were the HOPE sponsors for this event. The proceeds from this event will help HSL provide critical services and programs to families and individuals suffering from substance abuse disorder.
The testimony shared by the mother and her daughter was one of the strongest moments in the evening. A mother bravely shared her story of addiction and recovery with her daughter, who spoke out about the impact her struggles had on her own life. “We are best friends now, and I couldn’t be more proud of her,” The young girl’s words captured the mission of HSL.
Pamela Capaci (CEO of HSL) thanked the sponsors, friends, and partners who helped make this event possible. “Moving forward, we will continue to unite the community by spreading awareness on substance use disorder and the promise of recovery,” Note Capaci. “We’ve heard so many stories. Stories that eventually led to renewal and transformation. The underlying message in each one is clear – hope is alive, and it is stronger than ever.”
HSL was established in 2012 by Ron Rosetto who along with Arvo prima and Stephen Willis turned a personal tragedy into hope for other people. Rosetto, who lost his son Marc due to substance abuse disorder in 2012, wanted to create an environment where individuals and families could learn about recovery and find support. HSL is still fighting the stigma of substance abuse disorder today and providing a place where healing can flourish.
The 5th annual Evening of Hope was a testimony to the strength of stories shared, the community and the unwavering faith in recovery. Even as HSL works to continue its mission, such events remind us of the fact that hope not only lives but thrives.
